Did you know that God blesses people who are diligent in their obedience to Him? Well it’s true, but being obedient is not an easy thing to do for many people.
Liberty and Free Will complicates matters for those who fail to recognize that such blessings are generously given to everyone by our heavenly Father. We all have the God given right to do what we please whether it be right or wrong, or good or bad. Our actions and decisions have consequences, and those consequences could be blessings or curses. May we all be a blessing to the Lord, His church, and the people of the world.
The practice of being diligent in obedience to God comes with the greatest benefits that anyone could ever imagine. A child of the Most High God is one who is conscientiously persistent and tenacious in his or her pursuit to be obedient in all the ways of the Lord. God told His people that if they would diligently obey His Word, He would set them high above all nations of the earth. The Word of God declares that all His blessings shall come upon you and overtake you because you obey the voice of the Lord (Deuteronomy 28:1-2).
God promised to bless the nation of Israel in every way possible if they would simply heed His commandments and carefully observe them (Deuteronomy 28:3-14). Christians are also commanded to do the same. Jesus said, “If you love Me, keep My commandments” (John 14:15). By inspiration of the Holy Spirit the apostle Paul wrote, “Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse” (Romans 12:14). The apostle Paul also wrote, “We work hard with our own hands. When we are cursed, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure it” (1 Corinthians 4:12). Jesus commands that we are to bless and love our enemies. To do otherwise is to be disobedient to the Lord (Matthew 5:43-45). With the tongue, Christians bless the Lord and some even curse their brothers and sisters in Christ (James 3:9-10). May we all be a blessing to people and not be guilty of cursing anyone.
It's important to be a blessing to your earthly family. Your children are blessed when you walk in the righteousness of integrity (Proverbs 20:7), and your children will call you blessed (Proverbs 31:28). Be a blessing to the Lord, His church, your family, and every human being you encounter. The greatest of all blessings from God began with your salvation. Do not forget to share the gospel of Christ with your friends and family. May your heart always be in the direction of the Lord. God loves you!
